rescue me 03:52
I’m breaking down walls I’m dancing in a lonely room I’m walking lost in a quiet place I’m chasing the wind I’m holding on to empty words I’m feeling the spray against my face Rescue me Take me to your promised land Rescue me Carry me home I’m putting out fires I’m running out against the tide I’m building a bridge towards my dreams I’m standing alone I’m racing with the pouring rain I’m floating out against the stream Rescue me Take me to your promised land Rescue me Carry me home I’m breaking down walls I’m dancing in a lonely room I’m walking lost in this quiet place Rescue me Take me to your promised land Rescue me Carry me home Rescue me Take me to your promised land Rescue me Carry me home Carry me home Carry me home Carry me home Carry me home

crazy rain 05:07
I hold out my hands for fear of Falling down You threw me a lifeline and then you Turned around Your nervous laughter took me Quite by surprise You sealed my fate forever With those eyes With those eyes And now this Crazy rain’s falling down over me Crazy rain falling down set me free Set me free Why don’t you? I spend my days in corners Hiding away You got a different story Everyday You took my future and then you Turned it around Now when our autumn comes I Fall to the ground Fall to the ground And now this Crazy rain’s falling down over me Crazy rain falling down set me free Set me free Why don’t you? I hold out my hands for fear of Falling down You threw me a lifeline and then you Turned around Turned Around And now this Crazy rain’s falling down over me Crazy rain falling down set me free Set me free Crazy rain falling down over me Crazy rain falling down set me free Set me free Why don’t you?

don't go 04:39
Well it’s crawling across the floor Yes it’s playing on your mind It’s an ever open door You search but cannot find Don’t go You don’t know what you’re looking for Don’t go ‘till you get it together ‘till you get it together No colour in your future Don’t recognise your past It’s an empty cold illusion You hope will never last Don’t go You don’t know what you’re looking for Don’t go ‘till you get it together ‘till you get it together ‘till you get it together Longing to be free You’ve got to find a better way To be Starting over and over and over and over Well you think you’ve found your freedom Nothing matters anymore In a room without a reason You fall through that trapdoor Don’t go You don’t know what you’re looking for Don’t go ‘till you get it together ‘till you get it together

And every time I see your face it reminds me Of another time another place left behind me Thoughts that mingle with the past go on forever Never thought that it would last this time together Not every road not every way Is gonna lead me home again ‘Cos every hour of every day I’m back in that place again Where the waves wash over you Like footprints in the sand Like footprints in the sand Take the trouble take the time to write a letter Look for reason in the rhyme try to forget her Tears of sadness pass me by memories still linger It’s so hard to say goodbye to all you bring her Not every road not every way Is gonna lead me home again ‘Cos every hour of every day I’m back in that place again Where the waves wash over you Like footprints in the sand Like footprints in the sand

I woke up this morning To find the day had started again The sun it had risen But all I had was rain Here it comes A tidal wave Here it comes A hurricane The clocks have been ticking Their hands are speeding up each day But no-one is listening You’re just imagining things they say Here it comes A tidal wave Here it comes A hurricane Flowing over me Blowing over me Shining over me Moving over me

Jody ain’t so little today But she’s still got something to say Down where the juke box plays Now she remembers a better time Reading poetry and drinking wine When everything seemed so fine This is as good as it gets So don’t look back with regret This is as good as it gets Don’t wait for the next sunset This is as good as it gets Now don’t you ever forget That this is as good as it gets Looking back she was so cool Wearing fashions that broke the rules A Monet by the swimming pool But those days have come and gone They cast a spell on everyone Now’s the time to be moving on This is as good as it gets So don’t look back with regret This is as good as it gets Don’t wait for the next sunset This is as good as it gets Now don’t you ever forget That this is as good as it gets Then running with the right crowd and when You were dancing Dreaming of that special place and a time A time that never was This is as good as it gets So don’t look back with regret This is as good as it gets Don’t wait for the next sunset This is as good as it gets Now don’t you ever forget That this is as good as it gets Jody ain’t so young today But she’s always something to say Now the juke box never plays

that summer 04:37
I saw a photograph of you Took me back to the place the ocean was so blue And we walked across the sand Felt your warm skin touch a breath across my hand That summer you gave me a chance to start anew This summer you left me now everything is everything is blue I remember the scent of flowers Takes me back to the time a minute seemed like hours When we looked into the sun Felt the night winds die you were the only one That summer you gave me a chance to start anew This summer you left me now everything is everything is blue And now the leaves are turning Those empty feelings burning in my heart A chilly wind is blowing How can I face it knowing we’re apart? I found a photograph of you Took me back to your arms the blue sky was so true That summer you gave me a chance to start anew This summer you left me now everything is blue And I don’t know what to do And I don’t know what to do And I don’t know what to do

Today’s the day I’ll smoke my last cigarette Today’s the day I’ll smoke my last cigarette I breathed in the fumes and started my blues Today’s the day I’ll drink my last goodbye Today’s the day I’ll drink my last goodbye I swallowed the wine and tasted the vine again I’m losing you Yes I’m losing you Remember the stars they travelled so far no more Losing you Yes I’m losing you Remember the stars the way that it was before Today’s the day I’ll scream my last guitar Today’s the day I’ll scream my last guitar I sang in the bright and burned out the light Today’s the day I’ll swim my last farewell Today’s the day I’ll swim my last farewell I heard on the news you started my blues again I’m losing you Yes I’m losing you Remember the stars your face in the clouds of rain Losing you Losing you Remember the stars the way that it was again Today’s the day I’ll smoke my last cigarette Today’s the day I’ll smoke my last cigarette When I walk out the door you’ll see me no more no more

spin 04:10
Those words on paper That you left behind Are calling to me Talking in my mind Your lilac perfume Hangs on every breath It fills my head up With every word you said Another day dream Summer in the rain You whisper to me I feel your touch again I’m drinking coffee I listen to the night Couples talking Why can’t we make it right? Spin your love Spin your love Spin your love Over me I see a stranger Walking in the street Your faceless shadow Is everyone I meet The autumn leaves Are spelling out your name They taunt my senses Burning like a flame Spin your love Spin your love Spin your love Over me The words on paper That you left behind Still calling to me Talking in my mind I’m drinking coffee I listen to the night Couples talking Why couldn’t we make it right? Spin your love Spin your love Spin your love Over me

I walked out of the darkness into the sunlight You ran from the daytime into the empty night No more lullabies No more goodbyes No more blue skies Again I wanted a hurricane to blow over us You caused a landslide and everything was lost No more lullabies No more goodbyes No more blue skies Again No more lullabies No more sad eyes No more asking why Again Now everything I hoped Is broken And everything I dreamed Is gone Now everything I hoped Is broken And everything I dreamed Is gone No more lullabies No more goodbyes No more blue skies Again No more lullabies No more sad eyes No more asking why Again

David has been playing bass guitar since he was 15 years old. His first band featured Peter ‘Budgie’ Clarke on drums, who went on to join Siouxsie and the Banshees. Other bands including the Liverpool based alt-prog band A Better Mousetrap, Plenty with Tim Bowness, a Beatles tribute band called The Café Beatles and an acoustic duo with folk singer Fil Ziebicki called Darker Than Amber. Currently he is the bass guitarist with Mama – Genesis Tribute Band, Moonshot, Plenty and The Swan Chorus. He plays bass on the following recent albums –

2020 Moonshot “Worlds of Yesterday”
2021 Plenty “Enough”

During the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021, not only did he record the new Plenty album with Tim Bowness and Brian Hulse, he also worked on an album of original songs with Brian Hulse and vocalist Peter Goddard. Brian, Peter and David were in the band A Better Mousetrap between 1981 and 1985. This is the first time the three of them have worked together since the 1980s.

Days In Corners was developed in collaboration with Brian and Peter from demos recorded over 20 years, its creation became a lockdown labour of love. By turns poignant and lush, the album consists of ten haunting songs about reflection, relationships and romance. The album includes guest performances by Tim Bowness, who sings on World Keeps Turning, Darren Dean (guitarist from Moonshot) who adds his distinct playing to Spin, Henry Rogers (drummer with Mostly Autumn) who features on Don’t Go, vocalist Jenny Whittaker who sings on Don’t Go, As Good As It Gets & Spin, plus John Wilkinson (Mama/Moonshot/The Swan Chorus) who adds his voice to Last Cigarette, a song about the death of Jeff Buckley.
